Somebody needs to tell Vikings players to slow down off the field.
A day after it was learned that Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was cited for driving his BMW 109 miles per hour by Edina police last Saturday, WCCO and KSTP television reported that wide receiver Bernard Berrian was stopped by the State Patrol for driving his Audi 104 miles per hour in a 60-mile-per-hour zone on Monday night. According to WCCO, Berrian was pulled over on Interstate 694 in Oakdale. The State Patrol said alcohol was not a factor and the trooper who made the stop said Berrian was polite and cooperative, according to 'CCO.
Vikings coach Brad Childress had little to say on Thursday or Friday when asked about Peterson's speeding ticket -- the news about Berrian did not come out until late tonight -- but Childress has made it clear before that he warns players about what can happen away from the field and how a person's life can be changed in the blink of an eye.
Obviously, he will be driving that message home again in the coming days.
