Report: A fine possible for Childress

The Vikings coach could have to write a check to the NFL.

Vikings coach Brad Childress didn't have much to say Monday when asked if he had been told by the NFL that he would be fined for his comments about the officiating Sunday night in the Vikings' loss to the Packers at Lambeau Field.

But it sounds as if Childress could be writing a check to the league.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported the league is reviewing Childress' comments to Vikings flagship station KFAN Radio for a possible fine and that Childress also violated a "cardinal rule" at his news conference this afternoon by saying that the league admitted to him that referee Scott Green made a mistake by overturning a touchdown call on what appeared to be a catch by tight end Visanthe Shiancoe in the second quarter.
