After MnDOT closed the 12th Avenue bridge over I-494 in Bloomington last week, the agency found that the bridge needed more work than originally thought.

So the agency will continue patching things up this fall, and then will return in the spring of 2015 when conditions are more suitable for paving. At that time, MnDOT will resurface the entire bridge deck.

The bridge has reopened to traffic.
