State Rep. Steve Smith still isn't saying.

As Reps. Marty Seifert and Tom Emmer announced supporters over the past few month, the Mound Republicans was listed as supporting both.

"I had the great fortune of being on both men's Web sites," Smith said Friday morning before Republicans convened to pick their gubernatorial standard bearer. "Both men are capable of being governor."

But, with a vote looming in just a few hours, who is he backing?

Smith, a delegate, kept his own counsel.

As a deputy minority leader in the House, he noted, he will work with both men at the Capitol.

While Rep. Smith is keeping his own counsel, Ryan Smith, the representative's son, was more forthcoming with his choice -- but only by one word.

"Seifert," the younger Smith said.
