An attorney from Remer, in Minnesota's Cass County, was suspended Friday for a minimum of six months for professional misconduct.
Arlie M. Fundaun failed to communicate with a client and to diligently and expeditiously handle a client matter and made false statements to a client, according to the Office of Lawyers Professional Responsibility. He also engaged in the unauthorized practice of law and failed to cooperate with disciplinary investigations.
Fundaun was suspended by the state Supreme Court after a petition for disciplinary action from the lawyers board.
He can apply for reinstatement, but must successfully complete legal education requirements.
In 2011, he was reprimanded and fined $900 for failing to diligently pursue litigation, failing to keep a client informed and failure to properly handle funds.
