MINNEAPOLIS — A 19-year-old Redby man has pleaded guilty to attacking another man with a machete as the victim slept.

Dale Clinton White Jr., pleaded guilty Monday in U.S. District Court to one count of assault resulting in serious bodily harm.

Prosecutors say White admitted he assaulted the man with a machete on March 22 on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Prosecutors say the victim suffered a fractured skull, left arm and front sinus, as well as cuts to scalp, face, and arms. The man required multiple blood transfusions.

A message left with White's attorney was not immediately returned.

White faces a potential maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.
