Width: On channel bottom, 100-250 feet. From bank top to bank top: 2,200 feet.
Depth: 20-35 feet.
Maximum flow capacity: 20,000 cubic feet per second. (Mississippi River at Minneapolis, 2011 peak, mid-April: 46,000 cfs)
Aqueducts: 2, carrying the Maple and Sheyenne rivers over the diversion channel.
Bridges required: 19 highway, 4 railroad.
Rural acres upstream of Fargo-Moorhead that will hold water back: 6,878 (10.7 square miles).
