Twin Cities rock fans got at least one announcement they have been waiting to hear: The Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform at Target Center on Oct. 30 (a Tuesday). Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. for $61.50 and $41.50. The veteran alt-rockers had to postpone a good chunk of their tour after frontman Anthony Kiedis underwent foot surgery. Hold the lame jokes, please, you RHCP haters.

The Chili Peppers announcement came this morning just as Radiohead issued more U.S. dates -- which amounted to more disappointment for Minnesota fans. No local date is included in the new itinerary. The nearest new date is June 10 at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater in Tinley Park, Ill. (just outside Chicago). That's in addition to the sold-out show this upcoming Sunday at Kansas City's Sprint Center. Local concert promoters have given no hint of when the band's first show here in about 15 years might be, and a Radiohead publicist also said today she is unaware of any Twin Cities area gig being on the books. Was it something we said, Thom?
