Recipes: Irish whiskey cocktails

Serves 1.

Note: Orgeat is an almond-flavored syrup, found at liquor stores or grocery stores, in the coffee aisle with flavored syrups, often labeled as almond syrup. Adapted from "The Savoy Cocktail Book," by Harry Craddock.

• 3 tbsp. (1.5 oz.) blended Irish whiskey

• 3 tbsp. (1.5 oz.) blended Scotch

•1 1/2 tbsp. (0.75 oz.) lemon juice

•1 tbsp. (0.5 oz.) orgeat (see Note)

Directions

Combine whiskey, Scotch, lemon juice and orgeat. Shake with ice, strain and serve.

Irish Cream whiskey √

Serves 1.

Note: Adjust the whiskey-honey-cream amounts to your preference. Adapted from 2 Gingers.

• 6 tbsp. (3 oz.) Irish whiskey

• 1 tsp. honey

• 4 tsp. cream

• Ice

Directions

Stir whiskey and honey together in shaker. Add cream and shake with ice. Serve with ice in a lowball glass.
