Recipes: Aquavit and Tonic, Aquavit Bloody Mary

AQUAVIT AND TONIC

Serves 1.

Note: Be sure to use a good tonic; some options are Q Tonic, Fentimans or Fever Tree. From Beth Dooley.

• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) aquavit

•5 oz. (1/2 c. plus 2 tbsp.) tonic water

• 1 lime wedge

• 1 fresh dill sprig

Directions

Pour the aquavit and tonic water into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Gently stir with a long spoon or swizzle stick. Garnish with lime and dill.

AQUAVIT BLOODY MARY

Serves 1.

Note: This is a mild version of the classic cocktail, perfect for a holiday brunch. From Beth Dooley.

• 3 oz. (3/8 c.) tomato juice

• 11/2 oz. (3 tbsp.) aquavit

• 1/2 oz. (1 tbsp.) lemon juice

• 1 dash Worcestershire sauce

• 1 dill pickle wedge

Directions

In a highball glass, mix together the tomato juice, aquavit, lemon juice and Worcestershire sauce. Add a few ice cubes and garnish with a dill pickle.
