GINGERBREAD HOUSE ICING

Makes a lot.

Note: Use the icing for "glue" or "snow" when making a gingerbread house.

• 1 lb. powdered sugar

• Dash salt

• 1 tsp. cream of tartar

• 3 egg whites

• 1 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

Whisk together sugar, salt and cream of tartar.

Beat egg whites to a soft peak. Slowly add the dry ingredients and vanilla to egg whites and beat until stiff peaks form.

Use a pastry bag (or plastic bag with a tiny corner clipped off one end) to distribute the icing.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020.
