Brandy Old-Fashioned (Wisconsin Style)

Serves 1.

Note: This variation comes from the Old-Fashioned bar in Madison, Wis. If you want to drink authentically, use Korbel brandy. Otherwise, another light-bodied domestic brandy will do.

• 1 sugar cube

• 4 dashes Angostura bitters

• 2 orange slices, divided

• 2 maraschino cherries, divided

• 7-Up or Sprite

• 2 oz. (1/4 c.) Korbel brandy (see Note)

Directions

In an Old-Fashioned glass, combine the sugar, bitters, 1 of the orange slices, 1 of the cherries, stemmed, and a splash of 7-Up. Muddle the ingredients.

Fill the glass with ice cubes and add the brandy. Stir until chilled. Top with 7-Up and garnish with the remaining orange slice and cherry.
