Ready for the end of "Rescue Me"?

This week's finale is no coincidence

Get ready for the end of tonight's series finale of "Rescue Me" by watching Denis Leary talk to Jimmy Fallon (two-part video) about the emotion confronted in wrapping up the show. Informed observers disagree whether the interview contains spoilers. Entertainment Weekly and OK! Magazine think so, to the extent of raising a spoiler alert. The Stir disagrees, thinking it's just Leary messing with fans.

And if you're looking at your calendar and seeing Sept. 11 looming, that's no accident either. 9/11 has been a part of the show since the beginning, and it's likely that won't change in its ending.

The "Rescue Me" finale airs on FX at 9 p.m. Central and again at 10:30. Feel free to discuss the interview and the show as it is going it in the comments. Time-shifting viewers, you've been warned!
