What am I reading? "The Emigrants" series by Vilhelm Moberg. I was not interested in what I felt was a fictional account of early Swedish life until I started reading this series, and then I was hooked. It is repetitious and can be a hard read for modern readers, but it is worth it. I really like books by dead authors — many of whom are forgotten today but still are great authors.
