While he's still listed on Pollstar.com as playing First Avenue tonight, reborn R&B/soul star Raphael Saadiq re-routed his tour and actually won't be in Minneapolis until next month. Suffice it to say we can't wait. The former Tony! Toni! Tone! star -- one of the best and certainly the most dynamic performer I saw at the South by Southwest fest in March -- has rebooked his local date for June 4, the upside of which is he's bringing his show outdoors to the Cabooze Plaza. Tickets are $25 and on sale here. A month is ample time for momentum to continue building behind Saadiq's new album, "Stone Rollin'," which comes out tomorrow on Columbia Records and has garnered raves in Entertainment Weekly and (of course) Rolling Stone. If that's enough of a tie-in with the title, several of the songs also have the scrappy, vintage R&B style of early Stones tunes. Check out Saadiq's vibrant Daytrotter session for a taste of the delicious retro flavor.
Raphael Saadiq due in town June 4 (not tonight)
The reborn retro-soul star will perform outside the Cabooze in support of his blasting new album, which comes out tomorrow.

It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
