Ranking the QB prospects

ESPN's Mel Kiper lists five quarterbacks in top 25 draft-eligible players

January 6, 2011 at 5:12PM

ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper posted his first Big Board of 2011 with his rankings of the Top 25 draft-eligible players.

The content is premium and requires an insider subscription, but our friend Kevin Seifert has the quarterbacks listed and their rankings right here.

Kiper lists five quarterbacks in his Top 25 prospects, starting with Stanford's Andrew Luck at No. 1 overall. He is followed by:

9. Blaine Gabbert (Missouri)
13. Cam Newton (Auburn)
17. Ryan Mallett (Arkansas)
25. Jake Locker (Washington) The Vikings are selecting No. 12 overall. The problem for them is that a number of teams ahead of them also are in the market for a quarterback. Assuming the Vikings have virtually no chance of drafting Luck, who would you like to see them take of the remaining quarterbacks? Or is there a veteran free agent you think they should pursue?
