Each week, a fantasy football guest picker chooses a QB, WR and RB. This week's guest is Danny Morris, who was raised in south Minneapolis and is a first lieutenant in the Minnesota National Guard deployed with the 34th Combat Aviation Brigade in support of Operation Enduring Freedom-Kuwait. He plans to watch Thursday's Vikings/Packers game (3:30 a.m. local start) from Kuwait. Morris will go against Star Tribune writer Michael Rand, who can't pick anyone predicted to score in the top 10 at their respective positions by NFL.com:

danny morris's WEEK 5 FANTASY PICKS

QB: Andrew Luck, Colts

NFL.com QB projection: No. 3

Matchup: Ravens

The Baltimore matchup almost scared me away from this pick, but Luck is putting up MVP numbers right now. You can't ignore a QB who seems to be in the zone.

RB: Marshawn Lynch, Seahawks

NFL.com RB projection: No. 11

Matchup: Washington

Coming off a bye week and going against a team embarrassed by the New York Giants last week, Lynch and the Seahawks should have no problem running the ball against Washington.

WR: Antonio Brown, Steelers

NFL.com WR projection: No. 4

Matchup: Jaguars

I have no fantasy football experience. A league has always been too daunting of a commitment for me. In this case, I'm going with the WR who shares the lead in touchdowns and is playing Jacksonville.

MICHAEL RAND's WEEK 5 FANTASY PICKS

QB: Eli Manning, Giants

NFL.com QB projection: No. 15

Matchup: Falcons

If you watched the Vikings demolish the Falcons last week, you came away convinced Atlanta is one of the league's weakest defensive teams. I'll take Eli for a few touchdowns in a shootout.

RB: Frank Gore, 49ers

NFL.com RB projection: No. 20

Matchup: Chiefs

After a slow start to the season, Gore broke out for 174 combined rushing and receiving yards against the Eagles. He's been feast or famine this year; at home against the Chiefs, I'm hoping for feast.

WR: Victor Cruz, Giants

NFL.com WR projection: No. 15

Matchup: Falcons

Doubling down on two players from one team is a risky proposition, but against the Falcons it feels like I'm sitting with 10 and the blackjack dealer is showing a 6. If I'm wrong, I'm going to lose.

SCOREBOARD WEEK 4 FANTASY RECAP (USING NFL.COM DEFAULT SCORING METHOD)

Winner: Michael Rand — Philip Rivers (27.1), Eddie Lacy (11.9), Greg Jennings (7.2). Total: 46.2.

Loser: Karna Fronden — Kirk Cousins (5.5), Le'Veon Bell (10.9), Julio Jones (8.2). Total: 24.6.

Overall standings: Guest pickers 3-1.
