One of the best parts of the annual baseball road trip I go on — aside from about 87 other things — is spotting random former Twins players on rosters of other teams.

On this year's recently completed trip, two former Twins catchers stood out.

On Friday, there was a Josmil Pinto sighting. Pinto, a good hitting prospect whose work behind the plate held him back with the Twins before being derailed even more by concussion problems, is with the Class AAA Colorado Springs Sky Sox. Pinto had a good night at the plate when we saw him and entered Sunday hitting .336.

On Sunday at Coors Field, Chris Herrmann got the start behind the plate for the Diamondbacks. The Twins fans among our group were stunned to see Herrmann — who batted .181 in nearly 400 career plate appearances with the Twins, including .146 last year — is hitting better than .300 with power for Arizona.
