A 21-year-old Twin Cities woman suffered a medical problem while riding a personal watercraft and drowned in a western Wisconsin lake, authorities said Monday.

Lauren M. Blomlie, of Ramsey, was riding on Big Blake Lake in Georgetown on Aug. 5, when she "had a medical issue," according to a statement from the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

People nearby pulled her out and began trying to resuscitate her, the Sheriff's Office said. She was taken by ambulance to Amery Hospital and then to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, where she was pronounced dead.

Blomlie's brother, Cameron, said in a Tweet that his sister had had a history of seizures.
