George Paton, Vikings director of player personnel and the top assistant to General Manager Rick Spielman, is one of at least 10 candidates being considered for the Rams' general manager position, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

According to the paper, Paton interviewed for the position on Monday. He recently was added to the original list of nine candidates.

Paton has been with the Vikings the past five seasons. Before that, he spent six seasons with the Dolphins, where he also worked alongside Spielman as director of pro personnel. The two also worked together in the Bears' front office before that.

Paton's main focus with the Vikings is coordinating the scouting and personnel duties within the pro scouting departement and to help with the college scouting department as it prepares for the draft.
