Rainfall Map, Biggest Flood Concerns with Ida

Areas from southeastern Louisiana through the Florida Panhandle and fartherinland through central Alabama and central Georgia will receive excessiverainfall from Ida today through Tuesday. Widespread amounts of 4-6 inches arepossible in this zone, with up to 8 inches possible in a few communities.Places from southern Alabama through the Florida Panhandle will likely rack upthe highest rainfall totals. This area will also have the worst flooding fromstorm surge.

Roads will likely become flooded in this area, and some could be entirelywashed out and impassible. Some communities will also be dealing with floodingof homes and businesses.

Rainfall totals of 2-4 inches will be even more widespread over a much largerzone through Tuesday from central Louisiana into eastern Tennessee and theCarolinas. Flooding is also possible in this zone.
