Heavy rain that has lately doused the South Central states will linger oninto at least Monday. At the same time, the focus of the heavy will shifteastward.Sunday night through Monday afternoon, highest rainfall, powered by strong,inundating thunderstorms, will pelt the mid-South in the area of centralAlabama through northwestern Georgia. A wider area from eastern Tennessee tosouthern Mississippi will get amounts of an inch or two through lateMonday.
Rain steadier in nature and within the severe thunderstorms will soak themid-Atlantic leaving amounts of 2 to perhaps 3 inches over Maryland, Delaware,northern Virginia and southern New Jersey.
Rain impact over the South to the mid-Atlantic will include some urbanflooding and small stream flooding.
