Quilt show adds other needle crafts

The Dakota County Star Quilters' annual show, "A Shower of Quilts and More," opens March 26 at the Dakota County Historical Society, 130 3rd Av. N., South St.Paul, and runs through May 2.

In addition to a display of members' quilts, the show will showcase needle arts such as crocheting, knitting and counted cross stitch. There will also be an auction and sale of related items. Quilter and author Linda Hohag will present lectures at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 8.

Advance tickets are $6, which includes museum entry. To purchase, call Mary at 952-888-0421. The show is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays. Community theater show

The Lakeville Area Arts Center will present "The Dixie Swim Club" by Expressions Community Theater in early April. The story centers around five women who get together annually over a span of 33 years at the same North Carolina beach cottage. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. April 4-5 and 11-12 and 2 p.m. April 6 and 13.
