Quiet Weather for Tornado Cleanup

Sunshine will return to northeastern Texas and Louisiana today, providing muchneeded quiet weather to the communities ravaged by Wednesday's tornadooutbreak.While severe weather and heavy rain threatens the Southeast, sunshine will warmtemperatures into the upper 60s and 70s throughout northeastern Texas andLouisiana today. Only a bit of a breeze will blow.

One tornado on Wednesday slammed Waskom, Texas, which is just west ofShreveport, La. The twister destroyed homes and businesses, as well as downedtrees across Interstate 20.

Closer to Dallas, another tornado littered Interstate 20 with power lines anddebris near Canton, Texas. The Associated Press reports that officials wereforced to close the interstate for several hours. Multiple homes northeast ofCanton were damaged and several people sustained minor injuries.

Fortunately, there have been no reports of deaths from Wednesday'soutbreak.
