Quiet humility

Our society is kept sane by all the unsung heroes who work diligently but want to remain anonymous. My Iris Jean Brustad was such a person. What she did for foreign students as well as unsponsored Missionaries will never be documented.

As a volunteer representative for American Bible Society, she had worldwide contacts and the eternal fruits will never be known to man. At 85 years old, she left us on Nov. 4th to be with her heavenly Father and continues to enjoy family like she so splendidly produced in raising three daughters to be teachers.

I attempt to express my thoughts in verse:

A classy lady with a winning smile

She would make you go that extra mile

Though tough as nails but sweet as pie

While never wrong and yet never tell a lie.

With her interests so broad and talents unending

In our 65 years it was a marriage worth spending

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat. It’s too soon to tell how much the immigration crackdown is to blame.
