April 19, 2014 at 9:53PM

Asta is looking to make his second consecutive Class 3A state tournament appearance this spring. He finished in a three-way tie for 79th place a year ago. Here is a closer look at Asta:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "The Wolf of Wall Street."

How did you get started playing golf? My dad took me golfing when I was 5 or 6, and I have loved playing ever since.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … nervous, but excited to get out there.

What did you work on most prior to the upcoming season? Consistency, and working the ball from left to right and right to left.

What are your goals for the season? I'm hoping to get the entire team to the state tournament.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? My sophomore year I qualified for the state tournament individually by winning in a sudden-death playoff. I made par on the first hole, which was enough to seal my spot in the tournament.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? School always comes first. I make sure I'm always caught up on schoolwork during tournaments.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Play the golf season during the end of the summer and the fall.

Do you have a secret talent — and if so, what is it? Most people don't know I am good at pingpong. I even play on the high school team.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Don't worry about where you are at. Hit the shots, and add them up at the end.
