The Gophers recruit helped Lakeville South to its first Class 3A softball state tournament appearance in school history. The seventh-ranked Cougars left for last week's games at North Mankato with a school-best overall record of 19-5. Here is a closer look at Stober:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "Neighbors."

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Intense, focused and leader.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … "Feeling Myself" by Will.I.am; "Worst Behavior by Drake, and "Man of the Year" by Drake.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … extremely nervous.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Making it to the state tournament my senior year.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Lakeville North. The crosstown rivalry is huge here.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? The politics.

How do you balanced school and sports throughout the year? Just manage my time well, and write in my schedule at the beginning of the week.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? I always love watching the Gophers play, but my favorite pro team would be the Wild. I love watching hockey.

Do you have a secret talent – and if so, what is it? I wish I did!

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Hard work never goes unnoticed.
