I cannot take credit for the recommendation of "The Summer Book," by Tove Jansson, as a wonderful quarantine read. I learned about it in the April 2020 posting on Literary Hub suggesting good quarantine reads.
But I can tell you it is the only book that I have read three times, each time savoring the story of 6-year-old Sophia and her elderly grandmother spending the summer on a tiny island in the Gulf of Finland. Their relationship with one another and with the natural world is moving, oftentimes funny, and endlessly interesting.
