  • Age: "I can almost rent a car!
    • Lives in: Corcoran neighborhood, Mpls
      • Occupation: Decorator of cakes; creative contributor at MPLS.TV; communications princess at Clandesdine.

Q: What is the weirdest request you've ever received for a cake design?

A: This past summer we had a large, elaborate order come through that included a bone shaped cake to be decorated with a French theme. It was for a Parisian themed birthday party... for a dog!

Q: What was your biggest fangirl moment?

A: One of my biggest "fangirl" moments came before MPLS.TV. I was a projectionist for a while and on two separate occasions, at two different theaters I ran private film screeningsfor Jerry Seinfeld. Once we were on an elevator and he made fun of my shoes!

Q: You're a South by Southwest regular. What are you looking forward to most this year?

A: Not much has been announced yet, so it's hard to get specific. There's a showcase being put on by Dummy Magazine, Acéphale Records, RVNG INTL. and Hippos in Tanks and I bet it's going to have an unstoppable lineup! Heathcliff Berru of Life or Death PR and MGMT is doing a showcase. He's got some great artists on his roster so it's sure to be killer. I hear GZA is going to be performing with a live band and I'd love to see that. There are so many other artists I hope to see, but mainly I look forward to all of the moments that I never could have predicted.

Q: You probably get this all the time, but is that your real name?

A: I do get that question all the time, and yes! It is my real name. People always expect a crazy story behind it and assume that I have super cool parents. My parents are super cool, but the name is totally normal: Silk is my mother's maiden name and Champagne is my father's last name.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
