EMILY ROBERTS HOLDEN

Age: 31. Lives in: St. Paul. Occupation: Hairstylist at Juut Salonspa by day, bringer of noise in the girls-only DJ trio Lady Parts by night.

Q: When you're not at your day job, you make jewelry on the side. Have you always been crafty?

A: I realized about two years ago that I had an insane amount of creativity built up in me from ignoring my passions for so many years. Most of the jewelry I make is custom-designed with the person I'm making it for, which is really gratifying.

Q: How would you describe your personal style?

A: I keep it classy at work, but when I go out I like to wear anything from ripped-up jeans to sweet vintage dresses. You will never catch me without one too many accessories or amazing shoes.

Q: What are your favorite songs to get a dance floor moving?

A: I really prefer old jams, like Wu Tang's "Shimmy Shimmy Ya," going into surf-rock or doo wop or Gayngs. I always describe our mixes as every fun song you'd play on your friend's little brother's iPod at a party.

Q: What are your favorite summer activities?

A: Sitting in the shade -- I'm so pale -- splashing in the baby pool and Lady Parts' residency the second Thursday of every month at Clubhouse Jäger!

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
