Punishing Heat Wave

Extremely high temperatures and humidity continue to cause a large area ofdangerously hot weather across the South. Wednesday, RealFeel temperatures willsoar as high as 115 degrees from eastern Texas to the Tennessee Valley. Beforewarned, that is the type of heat that can be deadly.Heat wave safety tips include drinking plenty of fluids and not trying to dotoo much. Wearing light-colored clothes (especially white) also helps quite abit by reflecting incoming solar energy away from your body.

If, by chance, you develop a light-headed, dizzy type feeling on a very hotday, it is best to seek a cooler location immediately. The dazed feeling couldbe the first sign of heat exhaustion or even worse, heat stroke.
