ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — Residents in Arden Hills may see some extra police activity this weekend as public safety agencies from around Ramsey County participate in large-scale exercises to test their response to major incidents.
The exercises are scheduled for Saturday morning at Bethel University. Neighbors have already been told there could be traffic delays — and they may hear emergency sirens and other noises as authorities run through several scenarios.
Several agencies are participating, including the Bethel University Public Safety office, the Lake Johanna Fire Department, the Ramsey County's Sheriff's Office, and police from surrounding cities. Ramsey County Emergency Management and Homeland Security is also participating.
The goal is to test and find ways to improve the ways multiple agencies work together when responding to major emergencies.
