Public's help needed to ID body found in Rosemount

October 23, 2014 at 2:01AM

Authorities have yet to determine the identity of a man whose body was found Sept. 29 in a railroad shed in Rosemount.

The Hennepin County medical examiner's office, which performed the autopsy, has released photos of the man's clothes, knife sheath, earring and eyeglasses, and is asking the public for help in identifying him.

The man was white, 30 to 50 years old, 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with long brown and gray hair. He was wearing a Wilson's motorcycle jacket, Wrangler jeans, a button-down shirt, and a dark leather belt. The knife sheath had the initials DHT carved into it.

The medical examiner's office said the man was believed to have been living in the railroad utility shed near the intersection of 146th Street and Burnley Avenue W.

Papers at the scene indicate he was last known to be alive in October 2013. Foul play is not suspected in his death, authorities said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the medical examiner's office at 612-215-6300.
