Prince's Vikings song: Horns up or horns down?

As you've probably heard by now, Prince wrote a Vikings-specific song to help spur the team on to victory both this weekend and beyond. As a piece of music, it's ... well ... probably not Prince's finest work. But we ask: is the lack of musical quality made up for by the mere fact that he did this?

We say yes. And we give it two enthusiastic Horns Up. In fact, it's almost better that it's cheesy and kind of ridiculous, though we would have preferred if he had mixed in some of Brett Favre's rendition of "Pants on the Ground."

That said, we do have to take exception with the assertion on the Fox9 site (where you can listen to the song) that Prince hadn't seen the Vikings play in a very long time, until he went to the game against the Dallas Cowboys last week. That screen grab you see is from the Bears game earlier this season. Though in fairness to Prince, he looks so bored that he might not have remembered he was there.
