Preview: The Lynx trail for the first time in six playoff series going back to last year. Indiana won Game 1 of the best-of-five WNBA Finals 76-70 on Sunday at Target Center. So the Lynx's home-court advantage -- at least for now -- is gone. The Fever can dethrone the defending champions simply by winning Games 3 and 4 in Indianapolis. But home court in this rivalry seems to mean little; the visiting team has won eight of the past nine games since 2009.
Lynx at a glance: Can the Lynx lose consecutive games at home? Hard to imagine, considering they are 19-2 there this season, but they need to shoot better than 39.1 percent. Four starters scored in double figures Sunday -- for both teams -- but the Lynx got only five points from their bench. ... Maya Moore had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Rebekkah Brunson also had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. But those two forwards were a combined 9-for-26 from the field.
Indiana at a glance: The Fever edged the Lynx 10-8 in fast-break points and 19-18 in second-chance points. The margin for points in the paint was much bigger at 38-24. ... The question swirling around Indiana in this series is, when will Katie Douglas play? The team's second-leading scorer has a sprained left ankle and missed Game 1. She remained in Indianapolis for treatment Tuesday and is doubtful for Wednesday. ... Center Erlana Larkins had 15 rebounds Sunday, or half the Fever's total. She also outmuscled the Lynx for 16 inside points. ... Forward Tamika Catchings showed the Lynx why she was named the league's defensive player; she had four blocks and three steals.
