Prep football roundup: Holy Angels tops DeLaSalle

Holy Angels dealt the first blow, then held on through a challenging second half to top host DeLaSalle 26-6 in the opening night of high school football Thursday.

Running back Jack Anderson led the Stars with two touchdowns, including the only score of the first half.

The Stars extended their lead in the third quarter on a 63-yard run by quarterback Joshua Heimbold.

The Islanders scored when quarterback Da'San Frazier connected with receiver C.J. Criner for a 6-yard touchdown pass late in the third quarter.

Stillwater 36, Eagan 7: Senior quarterback Grayson Hosch passed for 120 yards and two touchdowns as the Ponies rolled to a victory over the Wildcats at Eagan.

Junior running back Mason Green ran for 126 yards and a touchdown for the Ponies, who also got 59 yards and a TD on the ground from junior Matt Crowell.

The Ponies defense intercepted four Gus Kluender passes, including two by senior defensive back Austin Murr.

Cretin-Derham Hall 19, Lakeville South 14: Jackson Crawford threw two touchdown passes in the final 2 minutes, 16 seconds to lift the visiting Raiders past the Cougars.

Jaylen Newton caught the second scoring pass from 48 yards after the Cougars fumbled a punt snap. Crawford found Marquell Thompson with a 43-yard touchdown pass the previous drive.

The Raiders failed to convert on an extra-point kick and a two-point attempt after their scores. Terrance Nash started the comeback with a 5-yard run at the eight-minute mark of the third quarter.

The Cougars took a 14-point lead into halftime. Jeremiah Jacobson started the scoring with a 19-yard run. Brady Torborg threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Shae Mitchell late in the second quarter.

Burnsville 20, Roseville 14: Stephan Olson had two TDs and two interceptions to lead the Blaze past the host Raiders.

Luke Bouchart threw two touchdown passes for the Raiders.

Edina 23, Andover 14: Ben Brinkman scored two touchdowns, including a game-sealing 4-yard run in the fourth quarter, to lift the No 5 Hornets past the Huskies in Andover. Matt Rice put the Hornets ahead for good with a 15-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

The Huskies led by a touchdown twice in the first half. Gavin Walsh hit Adam Perrin for a 15-yard touchdown to open the scoring. Walsh later ran in a 5-yard score. The Hornets overcame the pair of deficits with short touchdown runs by Brinkman and Brock Boltmann.

Centennial 34, Prior Lake 17: Kyle Nordby passed for three touchdowns to lead the No. 8 Cougars past the No. 10 Lakers at Prior Lake.

The Cougars' Bryan Pierson returned a second-quarter interception for a touchdown.
