The 136th running of the Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday, May 21,in Baltimore, Md. Weather is always an important component in horse racing,both leading up to and during the event, and this year will be noexception.An unsettled weather pattern currently over the mid-Atlantic will be slow todepart, leading to several more days of wet weather. Rainfall amounts couldtotal total as much as an inch leading up to the race, which may lead to amuddy track.
However, rainfall is expected to become more isolated by Friday which couldallow the track time to dry before the Saturday evening start time.
For the race day itself, we expect partly sunny skies and dry weather. Thetemperature will be in the upper 70s with a light and variable wind.
