The 136th running of the Preakness Stakes will take place on Saturday, May 21,in Baltimore, Md. Weather is always an important component in horse racing,both leading up to and during the event.This year will be no exception as an unsettled weather pattern currently overthe mid-Atlantic will be slow to depart, leading to several days of wetweather. Rainfall amounts could exceed an inch leading up to the race, whichmay lead to a muddy track.
However, rainfall is expected to become more isolated by Friday and Saturdaywhich could allow the track to dry by the Saturday evening start time.
For the race itself, we expect partly sunny skies with only a chance for abrief shower. The temperature will be in the upper 70s with winds out of thesouthwest at 7-14 mph.
