Count new Sacramento coach Dave Joerger among the many who expect the Timberwolves to make a leap this season.

Or at least he said before Saturday's game at Sacramento's new Golden 1 Center.

"They're going to take a big jump this year," said Joerger, the former Memphis coach who was raised in Staples, Minn. "I expect them to be in the 40s-win range, competing for a playoff spot. They're talented. Both teams are trying to get at it defensively and figure it out for themselves over the long haul."

The Kings have started the season 1-1 after winning handily at Phoenix Wednesday and losing by eight Thursday to San Antonio in their new arena's regular-season debut.

The Wolves are 0-1 after losing a 20-3 lead and the game at Memphis on Wednesday.

A reminder: Tonight's 9:30 p.m. Central time tip-off will start on FSN's Plus channel and then move to the main FSN channel when the Wild game is finished.
