Power restored to Metro Transit's Green line after morning delay

Power has been restored to the Green line after light-rail trains in the Twin Cities experienced significant delays Monday morning.

At 10:30 a.m., Metro Transit posted on Twitter: "Power is restored fully to Green Line. Light rail vehicles will be up and running regularly very soon."

Earlier, delays on the Green line between Raymond Station in St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis were announced by Metro Transit, which cited a mechanical issue as the problem.

Buses shuttled passengers between stations.

A passenger on a Green line train reported at about 8:45 a.m. that it was halted at the Prospect Park station because of a reported power outage. Soon after, the train reversed direction and headed back toward downtown St. Paul.

On the Blue line, passengers heard an announcement that a train had been stuck at the Lake St. station for 40 minutes, causing delays on that line.
