Power outage puts entire University of Minnesota Duluth campus in darkness for about an hour

The University of Minnesota-Duluth reported a power outage that affected the entire campus Saturday night. Power has since been restored.

A U spokesman said officials had learned from Minnesota Power that a transformer near the campus had malfunctioned. He had no additional information about the cause of the outage.

The Duluth campus announced the outage around 6:30 p.m. on social media. About an hour later, it said power had been restored.
