Potentially Damaging Citrus Freeze by the Weekend

A large pocket of bitterly cold air will charge south and eastward throughNorth America this week, sending temperatures well below normal across theeastern two-thirds of the United States through the end of the week. Manyrecord low temperatures are expected from the Plains to the Deep South withthis air mass.Unfortunately, the arctic air will continue its charge into the citrus grovesthis weekend, potentially bringing a damaging freeze across the Rio GrandeValley of southern Texas and Florida.
