The bells and whistles will be limited. So, too, the costume changes but not the dancing. This is Janet Jackson, after all, and this is the Number Ones: Up Close and Personal Tour. The emphasis is on intimacy and on songs, many of which Jackson recorded in the Twin Cities with producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Expect more than two dozen well-known songs from the 1980s and '90s as well as a post-concert debate about whether she was singing or lip-syncing.
