About 10:45 p.m. Thursday, a man riding a motorcycle described as an older Harley-Davidson model with a sidecar struck and seriously injured a St. Paul woman as she crossed the street near the Franklin Avenue light-rail station, police said.

The victim, Ryin Schoenwald, 29, suffered broken bones and a head injury, but is expected to survive, police said Monday.

The accident occurred on Franklin Avenue under the bridge that carries light-rail trains. According to police, the motorcyclist did not slow down before striking Schoenwald and did not stop after hitting her. The motorcycle was last seen turning north onto Cedar Avenue S. from E. Franklin Avenue.

The motorcyclist was described as an older white man with glasses and long blond or light-colored hair.
