St. Paul police on Tuesday released the make and model of a car that fatally hit a 22-year-old woman in a residential intersection and fled the scene.

The car being sought in the hit-and-run early Saturday is a 1996 to 1998 red Honda Civic, based on evidence collected so far, said police spokesman Steve Linders.

Taressa D. Wilson-Snyder of St. Paul was in the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Desoto Street about 2:30 a.m. when she was run over.

Wilson-Snyder was found down the block between Clark Street and Desoto, suggesting that the Honda was heading west on Maryland at the time.

She was taken to Regions Hospital and died there.

Police are urging the driver to surrender to authorities. Anyone who has information about the crash is asked to call the police investigator at 651-266-5921.
