As final burial plans are being made for an 87-year-old homicide victim, authorities in Moorhead are offering a reward for information in connection with the killing.

Henry "Hank" Volochenko was killed on June 19 at his house in the 1200 block of Main Avenue, a busy thoroughfare dotted with modest residences and small businesses. A friend discovered his body that evening.

An autopsy by the Ramsey County medical examiner's office only said that Volochenko died from "trauma by homicidal violence."

Police said Volochenko's black walking cane is missing. He also used a mobility cart to get around.

A reward of $1,000 is being offered by police in hopes that someone will come forward and help investigators solve the case.

A memorial service for Volochenko will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Moorhead, with burial at the church cemetery to follow.

Anyone with information about the case is being asked to call police at 1-218-299-5120.
