A man who was shot in the head Monday night in Minneapolis is recovering in the hospital as police continue to search for the person who pulled the trigger.

The victim was sitting in a parked car with another person in the vicinity of E. 38th Street and Chicago Avenue S. It was about 8 p.m. when somebody fired a shot that struck the 21-year-old man, said Sgt. Catherine Michal of the Minneapolis Police Department.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Hennepin County Medical Center with what appeared to be a non-life threatening injury, she said.

After being shot, the victim was able to crawl to a nearby business and call for help. Neither the victim nor his friend were able to give police many details as to what happened or who the suspect might be, Michal said.

Investigators are reviewing surveillance video from businesses near the scene and talking with witnesses.

No one has been arrested.
