Police responded to a domestic dispute possibly involving gunfire Wednesday morning across the street from a charter school in Brooklyn Park, sending officers into the school and forcing educators to call off classes for the day.

The school is Prairie Seeds Academy at 6200 West Broadway N., where some kids had already arrived, said Principal and school founder Choua Yang.

Yang said the police were focused on apartments across the street and that the school was in no way involved. The police response made it difficult for buses to access the school, she said.

The school has about 800 students in kindergarten through 12th grade.

Officers searched the school for someone related to a "domestic shots fired" incident, said Deputy Police Chief Mark Bruley. The suspect has not been found, he said.
