The Twins officially placed third baseman Trevor Plouffe on the 15-day disabled list and called up infielder Jorge Polanco from Class AAA Rochester.

The tarp was on the field an hour before the game, but the first pitch was thrown on time.

Polanco is in the clubhouse and will be available today against the Brewers. He was batting .286 with a home run and two RBI in 10 games at Rochester while playing second base. Polanco did say that he's taken ground balls at short and third. The debate continues as to where his best position is. The Twins have even wondered if he can play the outfield.

Fernando Abad has been reinstated from the bereavement list. Lefthander Taylor Rogers has been returned to Rochester.

Molitor expects to play Byung Ho Park at first base a couple times during the five games the Twins are about to play in NL parks. That means Joe Mauer and his .360-something batting average will get a couple days off on this road trip.

By the way, today is Mauer's 33rd birthday. He shares a birthdate with Kate Hudson, Maria Sharapova, Troy Polamalu, Ashely Judd, Candace Parker, Hayden Christensen and Joe Hart.

Ervin Santana has cut off his braids. You have been warned.
