The name of the 86-year-old man killed Thursday afternoon in a multivehicle crash in Plymouth was released Saturday.

Leigh R. Wold of Golden Valley died when a vehicle in which he was a passenger hit another vehicle at the intersection of Hwy. 55 and Xenium Lane/Northwest Boulevard, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner's office.

The vehicle in which Wold was a passenger was turning left from westbound Hwy. 55 onto Xenium when it hit an eastbound vehicle, authorities said.

A 15-year-old girl also riding in the car with Wold remains in "grave" condition at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, police said Friday.

The drivers of both vehicles were treated for noncritical injuries.

After the collisions, the vehicle Wold and the girl were in struck two other vehicles that were stopped at the intersection. That intersection is controlled by four-way stoplights.

The crash remains under investigation.
